Albeit he finished the strongest in the Maritime Breeders final at the end of May and has been raking in the dough left right and center, T M Top Gun has been quietly flying under the publics radar - or at least until today in Saint John.
The three year old son of Western Paradise turned away all challengers, including Island Redemption who had been riding a six race win streak, while blazing his way to a new lifetime record of 1:57.2 in the final Atlantic Sires Stake event in Saint John earlier today.
The colt sat behind Island Redemption who carved the front-end fractions and popped the pocket in the lane to win by three quarters of a length, closing the mile out with a 29.2 final quarter.
T M Top Gun is now owned by David MacDonald of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Darren Crowe does the duties of training and driving for the colt. The pacer, who nows owns a 2-6-2 record in his first 14 starts of the season, has banked more that $38,000 in his career.
